Originally introduced in the early 1900s, the Bouglé is beloved for its distinctive porting pattern, raised pillar construction, and unmistakable click-and-pawl sound. The MK IV series stays true to that heritage while offering refined machining and excellent balance for modern trout rods.
The 3.5" size is a versatile choice for 4–6 weight trout rods, pairing beautifully with both classic fiberglass and modern graphite setups. The traditional click-and-pawl drag provides smooth resistance and the satisfying sound that Hardy reels are famous for, while the large arbor design allows for improved line pickup compared to earlier Bouglé models.
This reel has been fished and shows a few small dings consistent with normal use, but remains in great overall condition and is mechanically excellent.
