Anglers have been using two-handed fly rods and Spey fly-casting techniques for salmon and steelhead for a long time. The reason is very simple: They [two-handed fly rods and Spey Casting] work well for covering larger bodies of water and make fishing these types of fisheries much more enjoyable. This class is meant for those who have never touched a two-hander, to those who have tried it, and want a simple and structured approach on how to use these rods more effectively on their local trout water.
First Session:This will take place at the shop, and the class will run from 6:15 PM - 8:30 PM. We will discuss what Trout Spey is, break down the different kinds of lines on the market, their uses, and their pros and cons. We will also discuss simple fly riggings for each style of line used to cast these two-handed rods.
