Streamer fishing has become an increasingly popular technique to target large, aggressive, predatory game fish across the globe; and it’s an essential skill for the modern fly angler to add to their arsenal. Over three class sessions, this class is meant to give you a simple and complete understanding of how to rig, cast, and fish streamers
If you want to learn how to fish streamers, or how to take your streamer game to the next level, then this is the class you’ve been waiting for. Sign-up soon!
Our first class will be an evening at the shop. This first session will be from 6:30 PM-8:30 PM, and will focus on teaching where we fish streamers, how we fish them, what lines/leaders/tippets work the best, and effective ways to rig them for our local waters.
The second session will be an afternoon of fly-casting at Liberty Park. This session will focus on tuning up everyone’s fly-casting and showing students how to safely and effectively cast streamers and streamer lines. Time of the casting class session will be from 5 PM – 6:30 PM, but these times are subject to change.
The class will wrap-up with a half-day trip to a local river (Middle or Lower Provo, or Weber), where students will experience firsthand where, and how fish to streamers on our local waters. Meet time for the river session is tentatively 8 AM but may change due to weather conditions.
