With an abundance of remote creeks and streams and five lightly pressured lakes, anglers have the opportunity to chase large Brown, Brook and Rainbow trout within a short distance from the lodge. With over 25 miles over premium trout water, the primary rivers fished include the Rio Pampas, Rio Nilson, Rio Corcovado and Rio Pico. Presenting dry flies to large rising trout or stripping streamer to aggressive unpressured fish are the preferred tactics and the veteran team of enthusiastic and passionate guides have the inside and out knowledge to have you in the right place at the right time. Each pair of anglers will hit the water with a head guide and assistant for a 1:1 angler to guide ratio. Depending on the location each day, the fishing is done wade fishing, floating or combination of both.
Las Pampas stone and log lodge is centered around the main common area which is home to the dining room, bar and a guest lounge with a fire place in the center making it the perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink and trade stories after a day on the water. Each of the four double occupancy rooms open to a cobblestone veranda and have their own private bathrooms. The dinners consist of fresh farm to table cuisine, much of it grown locally or harvested from the properties free range livestock. Breakfasts are simple and enjoyable and lunches are served streamside including a vast spread of quality homemade fare. Expect to follow these lunches with a much needed siesta!
Most guests will first fly to Buenos Aires before connecting to the Esquel airport. Upon arrival in Esquel, a lodge representative will meet the guests and begin the scenic 2.5 hour drive to the lodge, which is much like venturing back in time. Layovers, overnights and days in Buenos Aires offer opportunity to enjoy the city’s vibrant food scene, architecture and lifestyle or to factor in extra time on the water chasing Golden Dorado in the Parana River Delta with the lodge’s partner program, Urban Dorado Anglers!
