Our "Fly Tying Crash Courses" are a low commitment and approachable way to spend an evening learning at the vise whether you are trying it for the first time, entering a new genre of flies or looking to hone in your skills for a specific hatch or trip! Join us here in the class of your choice for one laid back evening of learning & tying flies. For 2025, we're excited to expand our Crash Course offerings to include more specific themes and focuses! Itinerary

Class Times: 6:00PM - 8:30PM

Zero to Wooly Bugger

This beginner fly tying course is for those with as little as zero fly tying experience though can also benefit those with limited experience. Throughout this one evening class students can expect to become acquainted with their vise, tools and materials before applying them to a fly pattern. One of the most recognizable names in fly fishing, the Wooly Bugger is not only one of the most productive and versatile fly patterns but also utilizes core fly-tying techniques such as wrapping thread, "palmering" hackle, whip finishing and more!

Rates & Dates

$65-85/Student depending on class level.

Class size is limited to 5 or 6 students.

Cancellation Policy: In event of cancellation, we must receive notice 14 days prior to the first class session. If cancellation is received 14 days prior to your class, you may transfer your deposit to another date within the same calendar year, or receive a full refund. If you cancel within 14 days of the start date your payment is non-refundable unless we are able to fill the seat. Out of respect for instructors and waitlist students, we are unable to provide refunds for seats that are unable to be filled.
