Experience the Canarreos Archipelago off Cuba’s southwestern coast from the comfort of the Avalon I liveaboard mothership. The Canarreos program features two distinct fisheries: Cayo Largo and Isla de la Juventud and combines the best of both worlds. Fish new water each day and return to the mothership for the sunset in a new location! Thanks to Cuba’s marine park designation of this area, the archipelago is free of other commercial fishermen, anglers or yachts and maintains a clean and breathtaking ecosystem. With one of Avalon’s smaller vessels, guests can be sure that the week is comfortable and relaxing and that they are receiving the best of Avalon’s service.

Over the 5.5 days of fishing, anglers fish a wide varieties of water. Cayo Largo provides seemingly endless white sand and turtlegrass flats where anglers can hunt Permit and high numbers of large Bonefish. To the west, Isla de la Juventud (or the Isle of Youth) transitions to mangroves, channels and reef systems know for their Tarpon and Snook. This blend of environments has something for all anglers and in addition to the grand slam species, also provides regular opportunities for other species such as multiple species of Snapper, Jack Crevalle Barracuda and more! Guides fish from 16’ Dolphin skiffs equipped with a lean bar and plenty of space for two anglers and their guide.
