SET Golden Dorado Experience, Argentina

SET fly fishing "Golden dorado experience", argentina

The SET Golden Dorado Experience is a specially curated adventure in the Corrientes region of northern Argentina, designed to give anglers a comprehensive encounter with the Golden Dorado. What sets this experience apart is the combination of fishing in two distinct ecological zones within a single trip, offering a contrast in fishing styles and environments. Guests can anticipate a dynamic itinerary that balances the pursuit of trophy-sized fish in the powerful Parana River with the thrill of poling a skiff around casting top-water flies in the more intimate wetland settings.

fishing

The primary target is the Golden Dorado, a powerful and aggressive predatory fish known for its golden coloration, fierce strikes, and acrobatic fights. Anglers may also have opportunities to catch other species such as Pacu and Pira Pita depending on the specific location and time of year. The program typically includes fishing in a combination of the following environments:

Upper Parana River - This large river system is characterized by strong currents, deep channels, and submerged structures, and is home to trophy sized Golden Dorado often reaching 40lbs.

Ibera Wetlands - This vast network of marshes, lagoons, and channels offers clear water and opportunities for sight-fishing & top-water takes for medium sized fish.

Ysoro Wetlands - This marsh environment is created by the overflow of the mid-section of the Parana River.
