This remote pacific fishery boasts shallow white sand flats, coral reefs, and a 144 square mile lagoon with edges and drop offs; the perfect spread of options for the advanced angler or the less experienced looking for an introduction to the salt. Decide whether to stalk plentiful bonefish, challenge yourself against tailing Triggerfish, or try your luck against the flats’ apex predator: the Giant Trevally. Though it’s a wade angler’s dream, there are also opportunities to fish deeper water for algae-slurping Milkfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and various other species of Trevally.

screen-shot-2019-04-13-at-12.13.30-pm.jpgFor our 2020 trip, we’re teaming up with Captain Rick Lee and Fish Christmas Island. Rick has been visiting the island since 1979 and regularly books with the island’s newest and most comfortable lodge, the Ikari House. The Ikari House (Bonefish House) sits on it’s own private beach overlooking the island’s main channel thus allowing immediate access to the fishery and incredible views of the sunrise and sunsets. The lodging is simple, comfortable and tidy with single or double occupancy options each with their own bathrooms, air conditioning, and plenty of space to clean and store your gear. Cold drinks are enjoyed after fishing under the Maneba (open air thatched building) and dinner is served buffet style including selections of fresh fish, lobster, chicken, pork, beef, rice and pasta.
