Used Charlton 8550C W/ Tarpon Spool LHW

For sale a rare, used Charlton 8550C fly reel with a tarpon spool. These reels are not convertible to and this reel is built for left hand retrieve. In Good/Very Good used condition with light signs of use along the frame edge and spool edge. No major dings or gouges, just typical wear from use. 4 1/2" diameter with a 1 3/16" spool width. The capacity for this model is listed as WF 10 and 400 yards of 30 lb backing and the mid arbor design makes it an excellent reel for permit, tarpon, or other big game. The sealed carbon fiber disk drag is self-adjusting and has over 9-square inches of surface area. Excellent all-black type-III hard anodizing except for the centre medallion and the counterweight which are chromed. The reel is packed in the original blue cordura pouch. A highly sought-after Charlton model here, it doesn't get much better than this for chasing tarpon. The 4.5-inch 8550C reel can accept any of the four spools made for the 8550C frame.
