These intermediate/advanced fly tying clinics are designed for fly tiers who have taken the intro course, or for those who have been tying for a couple years and want to build upon their current technique repertoire. As with the intro class, these clinics are technique based, and each fly tied in the class will focus on learning a specific tying skill. The first clinic will focus on learning how to tie a variety of hair wing dry flies, how to pick the proper hair for each fly, and when is the best time to fish them. The second clinic will focus on how to spin deer hair heads for streamers, how to shape them, and when and where to fish them. These classes are one evening sessions of tying for 3 hours each. All materials, tools, and vises can be provided if necessary. Additionally, we can discuss the best times and locations to fish the flies so that you are well prepared for the upcoming fishing season.
